After Shigatse on the road to Mt. Kailash and holy Lake Manasrover where a drive leads you South Western parts of Tibet within its vast plateau facing amazing views of high snow-capped peaks as drive lead you first at sacred Manasrover Lake with time to perform Puja around this large simmering lake with views of Mt. Kailash.

Short outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu free day with tour of holy Pashupatinath temple and Bouddhanath Stupa and to obtain Tibet entry and visa permits.
Day 03: Fly to Lhasa 3,650 m meet our guide and transfer to hotel.
Day 04-05: Tour of famous sites of Lhasa with Potala Palace.
Day 06: Drive to Shigatse 3,900 m – 03 hrs afternoon tour of the city.
Day 07: Drive to Saga 4, 400 m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Drive to west side of Manasrover at Chu-Gompa 4,545 m – 06 hrs.
Day 09: At Manasrover Lake in the morning to perform puja afternoon short dive to Darchen 4,620 m with time to visit its busy markets.
Day 10: Drive to Tarboche 4,680 m and start walk to Dhirapuk 4, 630 m – 05 hrs in lodge or camping.
Day 11: Trek to Zutul-Puk 4,730 m and over high Dorma-la pass – 6 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to near Darchen and drive to Saga – 07 hrs with walks and drive.
Day 13: Drive to Shitagtse and transfer to hotel – 06 hrs.
Day 14: Drive to Lhasa on short route from Shigatse – 04 hrs.
Day 15: Drive to Gongor Airport and fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 16: Depart for flight for homeward bound countries.

Detail Mansarovar Yatra Plan:

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu on respective airlines, received by our staff for short transfer within hub of Kathmandu city, with time for briefing providing you with full information
of Holy Mt. Kailash and sacred Lake Manasrover Yatra, with do’s and don’ts.

Evening time group dinner is set in an authentic Nepalese restaurant serving excellent vegetarian meals with a cultural program from various parts of Nepal to entertain you while having a nice dinner.

Day 02: Pashupatinath Darshan, Puja Hawan and Preparation.
In Kathmandu free day with a tour of holy Pashupatinath temple and rudraabhishek and hawan by pandit in the temple area.
This morning allows you to visit famous and holiest of all Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath, a short drive east of the city and enter into temple premises and worship the deities Lord Shiva, a beautiful temple adorned with golden pagoda roof and four cardinal silver doors with main Shiva Phallus at the center.

Pashupatinath Temple the nerve center of pilgrimage on the Shiva-Ratri anniversary of Lord Shiva, the small religious area also houses a great temple known as Debpatan, situated 5 kilometers east of the capital city. Where only Hindus are permitted to enter the main courtyard of the temple, alien foreign tourists can view the temple from the eastern side of the River.

After performing puja explore the area of Gujeswaori dedicated to Goddess Parvati consort of Lord Shiva, and then visit Bouddhanath Stupa or Chaitya stands as the largest Buddhist shrine around South East Asia, this ancient colossal Chorten or Stupa built-in 6th Century A.D. by King Man Deb.

It rests on a series of three terraces looking from bird’s eye view it takes the form and relevant shape of a lotus flower, regarded as a very holy object for all devout Buddhist world-wide.

The chhorten surrounded by a circular market, which forms a part of Tibet town overlooking four-sided Buddha’s eyes gives a vivid flash. The chhorten embraces the authentic philosophy of Mahayana the faith of which is known as Lamaism in Sikkim, Ladakh, Bhutan, and Tibet.

After a great interesting time back to hotel with afternoon free preparation for next morning’s departure to Lhasa for Holy Mt. Kailash Yatra.

Day 03: Fly to Lhasa 3,650 m meet our guide and transfer to hotel.
Morning an hour scenic flight over the high Himalayan range with views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Makalu, on arrival at Gongor airport near Lhasa our Tibetan guide will receive then transfer to Lhasa with another hour of good drive, recently the road has been improved with tunnels to shorten the distance to Lhasa, on reaching in Lhasa transfer into best available hotels in old section of Lhasa where the traditions and culture still exists as it was for centuries back, afternoon visit the Barkhor Market near the Jorkhang Temple premises the centre of Lhasa.

Day 04-05: Tour of famous sites of Lhasa with Potala Palace.
Lhasa at 3,650m provides an ideal acclimatization within these two days, as tour starts from morning till late afternoon with lunch break near or around the hotel premises, the guided tour with our expert Tibetan in Lhasa here you will be engrossed for two days with sightseeing and excursions of the Potala Palace, Norbulingkha Summer Palace, Sera and Drepung Monastery. Tour the fabled City of Lhasa.

A completely forbidden city until present times, Lhasa was a holy grail for many central Asian explorers in the past centuries, Lhasa city has changed and altered by the Chinese occupation and with impact of foreign visitors, however much of the original character remains whilst jostling within Potala with crowds of ethnic Tibetans, it is hard not to be captivated by this magnificent culture, religion and traditions.

Tour leads to great monasteries of Sera and Drepung and Jorkhang with Potala Palace.

Day 06: Drive to Shigatse 3,900 m – 07 hrs afternoon tour of the city.
Starting early morning for scenic drive to Shigatse with stop at Gyantse city, drive leads near Gongar airport, near Yarlung Tsangpo River (Brahmaputra River) our route leads southeast, drive climbs up at Khamba-la above 4,800 meters with views of surrounding landscapes and snow-capped peaks includes emerald Yamdrok Tsho the Turquoise Lake, after a nice break, drive continues by bank of Yamdrok Tsho and through Ngartse town and then towards Karo-la 5,050 meter pass.

The drive of few hours to reach Tibet second-largest city in Shigatse covering about 95 k. m. distance, where drive leads with amazing views as the road has been improved since last few years where road to Shigatse follows Nyang Chu River passing many farm villages and fields and finally approaching Shigatse in Shigatse visit the very large complex of Tashilumpo monastery.

A traditional residence of Panchen Lama contains a 27 m high gold plated Buddha known as Matriya (the future Buddha), afternoon visit the local interesting market.

Day 07: Drive to Saga 4, 610 m – 06 hrs.
After a wonderful time at Shigatse, drive leads on the main Kathmandu / Lhasa Friendship highway, through town of Larze where route of Mt. Kailash joins, after Larze drive climbs to several high passes and continues with some small stops around villages and farm fields observe nomads camps with yak grazing on huge pasture field.

As journey turns south west heading towards most remote corners of Tibet to reach Yalung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) River that flows from the source of Mt. Kailash, near Saga town, a growing town with many lodge, hotels and restaurants, on arrival check into the best available hotels or guest houses.

Day 08: Drive to west side of Manasrover at Chu-Gompa 4,545 m – 07 hrs.
Morning drive leads past Saga town within complete wilderness, after hours’ drive where road winds to a climb over pass about 4,900 m high and then down-hill to a long stretch flat area, on a clear day great views of snow capped peaks towards North West that borders Nepal, after few hours of scenic drive reaching into a windswept village at Paryang.

Drive continues towards Kailash area with great Barkha valley within much barren landscapes, as journey leads past many small farm villages and nomads camps with large Tibetan tents serving as teahouses and restaurants.

Drive continues with climb up towards Mayam-la pass at 5,050 m high, and then with long descends to reach a near level track and then on gradual road of few hours with views of Lake Manasrover then drive heads towards western side of the lake at Chu-Gompa for overnight stop nearby Manasrover Lake with views of Mt. Kailash.

Day 09: Mansarovar Lake to Darchen. 4600 m.
At Manasrover Lake in the morning to perform puja afternoon short dive to Darchen 4,620 m with time to visit its busy markets.
Morning free at holy Lake Manasrover located in Western Tibet between Mt. Kailash 6,714 meters and Gurla Mandhata Mountain Range stands at 7,694 meters.
Where Lake Manasrover floats beneath the shadow of holy Mt. Kailash as this lake forms the mind of God, as the name Manas.

Here interested pilgrims can perform puja rites with dips in this sacred lake within shallow area by the shore.

In Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religion, the holiest lake of Asia; best time to go around Lake Manasrover is in late autumn and early spring when the streams and rivers are low. It is then possible to walk very near the shoreline, an optional drive around Manasrover Lake can be done on request which takes about four hours.

With time here after performing puja an interesting short hike to Chu Gompa located on a shelf of a over-hanging cliff cave, adorned with Buddhism arts and ancient idols of Lord Buddha and other high Gurus.

Afternoon a short drive takes you at the centre and main town of Kailash in Darchen with many shops-stores and lodges with Guest-House, an interesting market to visit around and observe Tibetan traditional life and culture, during auspicious time this place flooded with Tibetan and Indian pilgrims for Kora, parikrama or holy circuit walks.

Day 10: Drive past Darchen to Tarboche 4,680 m and start walk to Dhirapuk 4,970 m – 05 hrs in mud house.
After Darchen with time at sacred Lake Manasrover, morning starts with a short drive on Barkha valley beyond Darchen town to reach Tarboche, one of the holy spot of the region with excellent views of Mt. Kailash West Face from here our holy walk begins leading north on a wide terrain towards Shershong, then with gradual climb of nice walk reaching to our overnight stop at Dhiraphuk Gompa, with magnificent views of holy Mt. Kailash North Face.

Here depending upon the season with mass number of pilgrim’s staying either in guest houses or tents with our own camping facilities.

Day 11: Trek to Zutul-Puk 4,760 m and over high Dorma-la pass – 10 hrs.
From Dhiraphuk and highest spot for overnight stops, morning walk continues heading uphill trail onto moraine of more than two hours, then with steep climb to reach on top Dormo-la pass at above 5,630m /18,525ft.

A holy spot closest views of Mt. Kailash North Face and the highest point of this adventurous pilgrimage, a big boulder represent goddess Dolma or Dromo (Tara) festooned with thousands of prayer flags and offering by both Hindu’s and Buddhist pilgrims.

This holy spot a physical and spiritual high point on pilgrimage, parikrama or Kora, after a nice break here walk leads to a long descend towards Lamchu wide valley a flat area, on reaching at the bottom of Dormo -la pass, a pleasant walk reaches you at a small Zutul-Puk Gompa for overnight stop, either in lodge or in tented camp.

Zuthul means cave in Tibetan, this place named after a holy cave in which poet, and saint Milereppa meditate in early 11th century, his footprints can be seen on the cave roof top.

Day 12: Trek to near Darchen and drive to Saga – 08 hrs.
Today last day of our holy parikrama and circuit or Kora in Tibetan, morning walk leads to a nice gradual walk for few hours on winding trail, to reach a narrow valley into a river gorge of great Karnali River.

From here short walk to meet the trail heading towards Darchen, where walk ends for a drive just an hour before Darchen, after completing our holy trek drive towards near Mayum-la pass base and continue to reach old Dzongba town and continue from here to reach our overnight stop in Saga town.

Day 14: Drive to Shitagtse and transfer to hotel – 07 hrs.
From here where drive leads past Saga town heading due north where road joins the main highway of Lhasa at Larze town, and then on good road to reach at Shigatse in the comfort of nice hotels, after being in wildest areas of Tibet around Mt. Kailash.

Day 14: Drive back to Lhasa via short route and transfer to hotel – 06 hrs.
After a wonderful time at Mt. Kailash Parikrama with overwhelming scenery of landscapes and snowcapped peaks, morning taking a local short route to Lhasa following Yarlung Tsangpa or Brahmaputra River most of the way to Lhasa.
On reaching Lhasa afternoon free for own individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 15: Drive to Gongar airport and fly to Kathmandu.
After early breakfast, a smooth drive of an hour to Gongar Airport before boarding farewell to our Tibetan guides and driver, and then check into airport terminal for scenic flight to Kathmandu with panoramic views of high Himalayas includes Mt. Everest and Mt. Makalu. On arrival our staff transfers you to respective hotels after a great Mt. Kailash Yatra, afternoon free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 16: Depart for international flight home ward bound or to respective countries.
Last day in Nepal after a great journey and pilgrimage with ever-lasting experience on Holy Mt. Kailash Yatra Special Way, as per your international flight departure time transfer to Kathmandu international airport for homeward bound or to your respective destinations.
